idler arm and ball joint

Okay I went to get tires installed they said right hand side idler arm and ball joint need replacing. the parts come to around $100.... how big of job is this? I go to school and work so should I get a shop to do it? how many hours labour is involved?
should I do the other side while I'm at it?
thanks guys...

the idler arm is fairly easy to do, the ball joint is a PITA tho, up to you if you want to do it,

idler arm takes maybe 15-20 minutes to get on, it's just 2 bolts. Ball joints you will need to do a bit more work and have the proper tools. I'd say do the idler arm yourself and take the ball joints up to have put on. Buy the parts and then take them to the shop, don't let the shop buy them, they will rip you off. www.p-s-t.com has great suspension stuff, or you can get stuff by moog from auto parts chain stores. My idler arm was $40(I think I overpaid) and I don't know prices on ball joints, they should be abou @15-$20 apiece though.Mine were in a kit....
