Steering help..

Hopefully someone can help me out with this, when I turn my steering wheel all the way left and right, but mostly left I get this awful noise. I know my tires aren't stock size but I bought the car that way. They are 235/60R15's. All my steering components such as ball joints and tie rods are new so I am lost on this one. Maybe the tires are rubbing on something..I don't know. Anyone have an answer?

Re: Steering help..

If you're trying to turn it against the stops the pressure relief valve in the pump will vent excess pressure and cause a whining noise. The sound should go away when you pull it back to center slightly.

If it the above doesn't fit, have you checked your power steering fluid level? Belt?

Re: Steering help..

It isn't the normal whining noise that I am used to with other cars. I have checked the belts and fluid and everything looks fine. It almost sounds like a deep grinding noise. I really don't know how to explain it. It isn't whining though, I know that much.
