Relocation brackets (spohn?)

Just wondering if anybody with experience installing them could give me advice on how to weld in the LCA relocation brackets as acurately as possible. I mean precision

I assume steve could be the most help if you're arround.

I'm not Steve but I guess I can give my suggestions. This is assuming that the rear is still installed in the car and all the other suspension parts (shocks etc.) are in place.

Jack up the car and support the car on the frame, let the rear axle hang freely.

Only disassemble and do one side at a time.

Remove the rear control arm bolt. Leave the front bolt in.

After cleaning the stock control arm mount on the axle, position the relocation bracket on it. Bolt it in place with the supplied spacer/sleave on the bolt inside the mount. Snug the bolt up.

Swing the control arm into place in the relocation bracket.
Be sure to check that the sleeve in the control arm bushing lines up perfectly with both sets of holes in the relocation bracket. You can do this by inserting the bolt in each hole one at a time. If you need to adjust it, tap the bracket until you can get the bolt to go through the control arm and bracket in both bracket holes with out having to readjust it. Install the bolt through the control arm and relocation bracket.

Tack the relocation bracket in place.

Remove the rear control arm bolt again and recheck that the sleeve in the control arm bushing still lines up with both sets of holes in the relocation bracket.

If you're still good to go, weld up the bracket.

Sounds easy enough.

I ordered spohns, I'm sure there will be some sort of literature with them but they're not here yet. Do spohns require removing the existing bracket, or just mounting and welding TO it?

(that is if the previous post wasn't about spohns)

No worries then

I was concerned about burn through on the axle tubes.
