Energy A Arm Bushings

I've purchased Front A-Arm bushings from Energy for my 1986 IROC-z , the energy p/n is 3-3157G , i've noticed a lot of freeplay between the inner sleves (small tube contacting bolt) and the bolt , you can flip it up and down , and they had the same Inside Diameter than the stock ones (1/2") , is normal that free-play ? anyone have dealt with this before ?

Thanks

Re: Energy A Arm Bushings

the ES bushings have a 1/2" bore, and the stock bolts are 12mm, so there is slop. I drilled the holes in my k-member to 1/2" years ago just because of this issue, and it makes finding bolts easier.

once they are tight, they should settle in the mounts and i dont think you will have any issues.

Re: Energy A Arm Bushings

I didn't notice that when I installed mine, but I had such a hard time getting my A-arms back in that I wasn't paying much attention. I was happy just to have them back in. I've put over 5k miles on the Camaro since I installed them and haven't noticed anything but an improvement over the stock rubber pieces.

Yes , i've figured that , there's a little slop , but the stock sleeves measured the same (1/2 ") , and i assume this is normal , but initially looked really scary for me.
I was wondering the same , once they're tight , will settle.

Many thanks bud.

Nice , this is what i call , quality control , hahahah , i know , this probably won't give me a "notable performance upgrade" but the old ones were completely shot , and energy product seem's to be a good replacement.

Thanks for the reply!
