aftermarket panhard bar question
I bought a used panhard bar a while back and recently tried putting it on. I noticed the bushing was slightly seperated from the end link. I tried coaxing it back in with a rubber mallet, and then with a block of wood and a bigger hammer, but it wouldnt move. The reason I had to try this is because it wont fit in the car with the extra width of the bushing. I tried coaxing it into the mount on the rear end with a rubber mallet, but it scarred the bushing. does anyone have any idea how i can get this into the car, or get the bushing back into the endlink?
one picture shows how the bushing has come away from the endlink, and the other shows the bushing scarred with a small piece missing

It could possibly be over packed with grease so it isn't going in any further.

yeah, try to get the steel liner out, then see if you can get it in more. If its full of grease, you wont be able to compress it.
looks like a lakewood piece if it helps.

it is a lakewood piece, or at least so i was told. So do i take the entire bushing and then there is a metal liner behind it? if so does the metal liner go back in before the bushing? i have no idea whats in the end link and dont want to screw up the part by doing something wrong, especially because i got a great deal on this!!

Re: aftermarket panhard bar question
there should be a metal sleave/liner inside the poly bushings that the bolt goes through. its a thin steel tube. push that out (might me tough). that will allow the grease to expand and hopefully let you push the bushings in all teh way.
or stick the thing in a bench vise and crank away on it and it should go in.
or, uncrew the grease fitting and then try to push the bushings in. that should relieve pressure too. the grease fitting may or may not have threads though, some of them press in.
