"Performance suspension"
im looking at a 2.8 5speed thats been sitting for about 3 years, i opened up the door doing some looking at the car and i saw on the dash the same "performance suspension" badge my moms WS6 Formula has, was it posible to get WS6 suspension or W86 (what it was called on the 4th gens i know that much when it was on a v6) on a 2.8? the car is like complete base model except for that on the dash, thanks

Re: "Performance suspension"
Idk which section of the forum this was moved from, but it would most likely best be answered in the suspension section, also if you search in the history/restoration section you might find the answers you need.
But if the whole car only has one badge, and you can't find any spots that one fell off, then I am pretty sure it wouldn't have ws6, and Idk offhand for sure cause I am a camaro guy, but I believe if you have ws6 you would have rear disk brakes and a rear swaybar, but it seems unlikely that you would have ws6, cause I don't think it was an option on base models with a v6, another way to check is to find the rpo if your car still has it, or the VIN if decoded might also shed some light.

Re: "Performance suspension"
Chances are some PO put a ws6 badge on it, personally I think putting badges on your car for equipment it doesn't have that came on the higher models is stupid...but for some reason some people do it, lol.

Re: "Performance suspension"
no its not a WS6 Badge its a "Performance Suspension" badge, it goes in the same place as the Premium sound one on the camaros, its bolted to the dash and putting it on would require the removal of the whole dash for it

Re: "Performance suspension"
no, the v6 cars NEVER got the ws6 (performance) suspension. you can install the parts, pretty much just sway bars and springs, but more than likely somebody just swapped the panel or put on the badge cause it looked cool

Re: "Performance suspension"
Its not my car. I was looking at buying it. Its been sitting for 3+ years. Needs fuel system. Cooling system gone through and clutch work. Paints shot. I didn't even look at the brakes to see if it needed them. Its a base coupe firebird 85 nothing special with a little front end damage. No frame damage though. Doesn't even have full cluster. I offered the guy 400 and he said if he couldn't get 600 he was gonna scrap it. (Looks like I'm not getting it) I doubt he will even get 300 for scrap... thanks for the replys everyone. But I was asking specifly if it could have ws6 I just wanted to know if "performance suspension" ment it had some sort of performance suspension. Not necesarily wsy

sounds like a basket case, and he wont get 600 for scrap. 300 is closer.

Re: "Performance suspension"
Ya I have no problem with paying 400 as I can get parts at cost (dads a mechanic) and I can do the work myself and do paint and body work. And I wanted to make it to a rally auto-x car so I want it as light as posible but o well lol

Re: "Performance suspension"
ok Just so everyone knows i looked at the RPO sticker. checked the vin on the sticker and the vin on the car, the match and both say its a V6 AND it shows F41 suspension, im thinking thats why it has the badge.

ith the WS6 Performance Suspension package. They were no V6 Formulas. Best way to findout is to run your VIN#
