They'll work with any shocks. They mount in the same location as the stock springs, so the type of shock doesn't matter.

Although I'd upgrade shocks before doing the weight jacker kit. Not sure I'd trust stock or other low-end shocks (i.e., not Koni or Bilstein) working with a lowered suspension.

I hope you're not saying that Koni or Bilstien shocks are bad. Excluding some extremely expensive Stanhuff shock ($1000+ per shock), they are the best shocks we can buy for our cars.

The reason they ask for the shock you are running is that they match the spring rate to the shock & type of driving you do as the springs are custom to each set of weight jacks. Thats why you cant get just the springs from them unless you already have a set of weight jacks.

I said NOT Koni or Bilstein. My old Firebird had Bilsteins and GC weight jackers, and this car has Konis and GC weight jackers. By "low end" I meant Monroe, Gabriel and whatever else the parts stores sell nowadays.

Re: ground control weight jacks?

They work great with my KYB Gas-A-Just shocks & struts that were on the car when I bought the car in '06. Bought a used set of GCWJ in 09 or 10 & never been happier.
