Flaming River Steering Box

I've heard a lot about these boxes, and they advertise a "rack and pinion" feel that we all want in these cars, but I do not know a single person who's bought one. Has anyone here installed one? Thoughts? I have a Lee box that's just... okay. I've had to take it to his shop a few times to fix the slop and it's still a little strange.

Re: Flaming River Steering Box

I've never heard of it, but personally can't see the benefit of such a system, the reason behind rack and pinion giving more feedback/road input boils down to how the system works as opposed to recirculating ball, which uses a worm gear with ball bearings in it for longevity, by very nature it will not give the same kind of feedback as a steering shaft with a gear on the end connected directly to the rack that moves the wheels(obviously this is more direct). I don't see a way of rectifying this without inventing a new steering setup or adding some device to provide feedback, but even if they did figure out a way to get it to give better or more feedback, it still wouldn't be the same imo, if you really want rack and pinion you should convert to rack and pinion, just my
