Suspension Ideas

Hey guys,
To get ya up to date the project is an 87 Gta with a tt 355. Iv been looking a bit on suspensions and was wondering if people can give me pro and cons of air ride. Also maybe some other ideas on what they would do. Plan is to drive it as close to daily as possible but still take it down the track from time to time. Would like a decent ride quality as well

nope, to get air ride in the car, properly, you will be spending closer to 3k.

air ride will probably give you the best ride quality, but not the best performance.

good tires, shocks struts and a overhaul of the old stock suspension bushings would be a good start reguardless of what other goodies you end up using.

re: Suspension Ideas

I never liked the idea, basically because air springs reverse what you want spring rate to do (you generally want a stiffer spring rate at lower ride heights and softer at higher ride heights, and with them you increase ride height by increasing pressure), but I have to admit that in the last few years there have been some pretty impressive setups done with the air ride parts. I suspect that they're only really "right" at a specific ride height, but I haven't had the opportunity to really experiment with one

re: Suspension Ideas

Yea i figured as much on the kit, it was just a rough idea. Also being that it will be close to being driven daily i really dont want to have to worry about air leaks. Any ideas on a nice setup that'll help with traction/handling and still be good for being Driven daily?
