I thought I saw a thread in here with the parts needed to build your own manual rack and pinion set-up, and now I cant find it...
I got a great deal on a Flaming River FR1501 manual rack, it fits my Spohn K member but seems like the arms are too long, the threaded ends are almost even with the spindles!

Anybody have a list of needed parts?

I cut and welded my inner tierods to the right size, then called Racecraft for a bumpsteer kit. I see you posted on YB so you should get pretty good advice over there also.

 

I'm also pretty interested in the rack and pinion setups I've seen people do lately. There isn't a real comprehensive thread on this board covering the rack. Is it pretty much a unanimous decision that thirdgeners have to get a tubular Kmember to start with the mounts for the rack, and then shorten the tie rod ends or get different spindles?

In that case, i'm kinda dissapointed, i might just have to fab some mounting locations on the stock k-member or figure something else out. Really wanted to make an electric rack and pinion setup work sometime too if I could.
