Idler arm HELP

Idler arm HELP

so i had to replace my idler and got the old one off and thew new one in, well the 2bolt part is in. now the part where its meets the longer arm thing is giving me problems...the shaft that goes up through the holdon the idler arm keeps spinning preventing me from puttin on the nut? iv tryed pressing the idler arm onto the steering arm thing and it still spins...im lost...

I'm not highly experienced at these things but I have replaced my entire front end steering recently.

I'd say if that piece on your centerlink (that's the big long part) is spinning inside of it, you probably need to replace your centerlink as well. I don't think that piece should be capable of spinning and if it is spinning I'd be scared of it coming out completely while driving down the road. I'm not sure if those are ball joints inside the centerlink or not. If they are, you might can get a new one pressed in (although if it is a pressed in part, it could be signs of deformation of the centerlink itself meaning a new one pressed in would not fix it), but it would probably be just as cheap to get a new centerlink.

well i got it. i needed to REALY press that shaft into the idler arm. i got greese on the shaft so i wouldnt grip the idler arm enough. DO NOT GREESE YOUR IDLER ARM BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN is the morel of the story lol.haha
