T-5 Torque arm trouble

I recently discovered my torque arm bushing on the driveway and the clamp open. the top bolt appears to have stripped out of the tail housing. Its not the first time i had to fix this.
can the housing be drilled thru so a nut and bolt can secure the top of the clamp?
ive seen the torque are relocation crossmembers but at over $250?? I have a umi t-5 crossmember i put on there about a year ago. wish i knew this would happen again. do they take trade ins for upgrades?

anyone else have an idea?

No...

Best thing to do, is Heli-Coil the hole.

Then, figure out what you're doing wrong, that you keep tearing that up. It's a pretty big long bolt, lots of nice coarse threads to bite into the aluminum real good; shouldn't be doing that. In all the years and dozens of times and handfuls of T-5s I took in and out of my car before a reasonable solution to the whole T-5 problem became available (T-56), I NEVER had any trouble with that bolt, never bought a trans with it damaged, never even heard of that happening to anybody.

I agree with sofakingdom. Heli-coil is one way to fix it and you do really need to figure out what is going on. Another fix would be to get your torque arm off the tail housing and mount it to the crossmember.

Re: T-5 Torque arm trouble

Ive considered the jegs arm but i already have a umi torque arm, so unless i can rethread or heli coil it, ill go with a relocation cross member.
