got a fast question.. installing new sportline springs soon and was wondering could i use monroe shocks and struts for now or will i need another name brand like kyb? just wondering what everyone thought?

monroe wont last long kyb will last alittle longer but not as long as better brands when you lower with sportlines cheap shocks/struts cant handle the lower ride height and will go out quickly
you need to get toki.. koni or blistein to handle that the springrate is not the issue as there are fairly soft it the lowered right height as you get into stiffer spring rates monroe or other cheap brands wont beable to control those rates its worth spending the money on a good set of shocks/struts in the long run

Bilstein, bilstein, or bilstein.

If you choose from those 3, you wont be disappointed.

A few others are ok, the aforementioned koni and tokico.

let me guess thats what you have lol

forgot to mention you can send the bilstein in to get rebuild/revalved for you lowered height which is added bonus

but i bilstein and koni are the top 2 then tokico then kyb and last but not least monroe

yeah.. i was thinking koni but found 2 monroe struts and 2 shocks i bought some time back in the shop for my car so, it got me thinking. just spent a lot of $$$ on chassis and suspension parts and forgot about struts and shocks.

you can use but will have to be replaced soon trust me so you will forget them now and spend money on other goodies but in future you will remember after you relize your car riding like crap lol that your going to need better shocks no way getting around it with the limited shock/strut travel

Honestly, it's going to be a bad combo with Sportlines and Munroes.

The Sportlines are very low. Munroes are designed for stock height. So they're wear out much faster with Sportlines. Bilsteins will last longer and Konis can handle a lowered spring like that with ease.

The Sportlines are lower than the Pro Kit. But the Sportlines are also a softer spring than the Pro Kit. So you'll end up with a low under-performing spring with a cheap shock that can't handle the height nor will it have the performance rebounding that a Bilstein or Koni has.

Essentially you have the options of:
Pro Kit = performance
Sportline = looks

I always recommend spending as much money on struts/shocks and as little money on springs as you can. That's why I run Koni yellows on stock height springs. Great performance with very good ride quality.
