Damaged frame/support?

Hi, Today when I finally got a good look under the car. I found this spot that is damaged and was wondering if it is repairable? Is it a major deal that needs repaired immediately or can I wait until I get it road worthy?

Re: Damaged frame/support?

is that actually a hole? how the hell did they do that? Sure it fixable, its just a hole. cut the jagged hole to a square, make a patch panel and weld in. paint and done

Re: Damaged frame/support?

I have no idea how it happened, but I overlooked when I looked the car over sitting in a overgrown yard. I didn't think it was a major problem right now, but figured I would ask. I am in the process of redoing the interior, and swapping engines. Just wasn't sure how load bearing that support really is.

Re: Damaged frame/support?

thats the firewall/frame. Its structual, but the hole is not going to make it fail right away, there is more structure there. But you want to fix it. At the very least it will collect dirt and crap and begin the rusting process

Re: Damaged frame/support?

I appreciate the response. I am definitely not in any hurry. I currently have the entire interior out of the car, and isn't going together very quickly. I will keep it in mind, and take it in somewhere to get repaired later.

Thanks,
