Founders Performance New and Improved Camber Plates

We just wanted to share with everyone that we just improved our caster/camber plates. We are now shipping all of our camber plates with a 1 piece, chrome-moly, forged bearing cup. No more welds on the bearing cups.

Re: Founders Performance New and Improved Camber Plates

Was there something happening with the old ones that caused you to switch designs? I have a the older style on my car but it still isnt on the road yet. It will be mainly used for road racing/auto x, should I switch to the new style?

Those look nice. Better then most the other ones out there.
Still wondering why nobody has redid the aluminum ones like I have. (alloy eng. ones)

No, nothing wrong with the others. We are just always trying to figure out ways to make better products than anyone else.

Re: Founders Performance New and Improved Camber Plates

a little confused... are these used in conjunction with the main plate with the slots for adjustment?

Yes these are the bearing mounts that go into the main camber plate.

How much does this add to this current price?

The ones I got 2 months ago don't look like they're welded.

Re: Founders Performance New and Improved Camber Plates

How well will they work with a coilover kit?

They are plenty strong for coilovers.

I've put these to the test already on a tough autox course; they hold up just fine.

So what's the price to upgrade to those? Already have the prior design.

Re: Founders Performance New and Improved Camber Plates

If you already have the prior design I wouldn't waste your money on switching to these. The old ones are plenty strong just more labor for us to build them.

Re: Founders Performance New and Improved Camber Plates

What is the design for holding the spherical end in? UMI uses a snap ring. What do these use? Thanks!

Re: Founders Performance New and Improved Camber Plates

These are press fit bearings with a high strength anaerobic sleeve retaining compound and then backed up with spiral lock.

Re: Founders Performance New and Improved Camber Plates

Do they increase camber over the stock mounts? Or just make it stronger and easier to set?

>>>So when the glue and the snap ring eventually fail, you loose your wheel assembly.

Never on my car. I want a top insert bearing that would never come out the bottom and loose a critical suspension mount link.

Spohn has made them for several years now out of steel. The aluminum ones fail over time and the bearing comes loose. due to metal fatigue around the snap ring. The steel ones have yet to show any failure signed with many years testing. Hunter has a great design and Spohn perfected the one weakness with steel units rather than aluminum.

Yes these give you greater adjustment with both camber and caster.
