Where can they be gottn new without paying an arm and a leg?

No idea, why you need new ones. I have collected several sets from parts cars over the years. They don't seem to 'wear'.

Jegs and others sell 'universal' spacers made of polyurathane.

I found them here:

But, not cheap. $100 for a pair, plush shipping.

Some places sell universal kits, as mentioned.

Some guys just use a section of heater hose to slide onto the top coil. It serves the same purpose.

Or, you could get them off of a car being parted out.

when i bought my trans am it didnt have any with it, the rear axle was just sort of sitting on the bump stops with the coil springs on the floor of the car

I'll sell you some used ones cheap. Sounds like you need new springs too if its sitting on the bumpstops.

I have the springs just need the rubber insulators how much do you want for them?
