will my wheels or tires hit my LCAs?

Hey guys, I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am planning on doing a Moser 9" with shortened axles by 2", and running Weld Star RT-S wheels with M/T ET street radials and 5.5" backspacing on the wheels. is this going to cause a problem with my LCAs or will they clear? This is a question that probably very few people would know, but I thought I'd ask anyways.. Thanks in advance, Jeremy!

There really are to many variables here.

When you say shortened 2", do you mean from stock or whatever is "normal" for a Moser 9"? I would not automatically assume they are the same. Also, are you assuming Moser puts the LCA mounts in exactly the same location as stock? Again, I would not assume that.

You have also not provided how much the tires are going to bulge from the edge of the rim.

You have also not mentioned which LCA's you are running. There is a width difference.

Frankly this is a question for Moser. They will/should know their dimensions.

never a "dumb question"
hope this helps
below is weld RTS wheel 10.275 wide 6.5 back space on a stock GM width 9" by Currie Enterprises (bolt in)
as you can see i have less then 1/2" till it hits the LCA's.

this is a 29x13x15 tire on the 10.275 wide weld wheel.

there is alot more to it then taking a hammer to fit this size of wheel.
alot of guys stick with a small 275 60 15 size. and can use a BFH to beat the wheel wells in.
in one of the above shots you can see a rub mark in the under coat. from a 28x12.5x15 et drag slick mt on a 15x8.5 w/4.5 back space. but they just bolted on. no work needed and was all tucked under...

so by taking off 2 " and going with a 12" wide rim. your going to need a few other mods.

not just beat with a ford tool..some of the wheel well modes other then just the bump stops
