2 Point strut tower brace for carb/tbi
I've seen pictures of TBI cars using a 2 point stb with open elements. Ive done a ton of searching but cant find anywhere that sells 2 point bars that work with anything other than tpi cars. Was wondering if anyone knows where I may find a 2 point bar that could work for a 92 TBI camaro.

While you would probably not call my research exhaustive, I have been through quite a few sites, and found no strut tower brace for the TBI cars other than the Edelbrock / QA1 design, which is 3 point. Joined: Aug 2006

Only one is the third 3 pts that edelbrock makes and I think qa1 does now.

Any of those will fit. The only thing that makes them TPI specific is the notch in the bar, it allows the plenum to fit under the bar. If you have TBI, and are set on running a open element air cleaner (which IMHO I'd recommend against) honestly I'd go for the 3 point bar instead of a 2 point.

Re: 2 Point strut tower brace for carb/tbi
I had been looking at those 3 but wasnt sure they would fit because they were designed for the tpi.
There were a few reasons I wanted a 2 point rather than a 3. I personally like the look of the 2 point much better, I'm a little sceptical about having to drill near the firewall, and I keep seeing some people saying the 3 points cracking windshields although that seems to be more of a 4th gen issue.
But you think those would "technically" work with a 14in open element?

the one listed on summits site. is not the one in the pic.
its going to be a 3 point. with the 2 arms bolted to the main bar and the fire wall flang... you can always add them if ysa want to..or not.
ebay had a 2 point. looks like polished alum. main bar. $96 shipped. listed as the last 1.. so i just did the buy it now.about 20 min ago..
have been looking at them for a few weeks..

@ ArticwhiteZ what are you refering too when you said"you can always add them if you want to"? The extra bolts thats mount to the fire wall?
I was curious if you could just put a 3 point on the car if you could just attach the bar at the strut towers. Couldnt see it hurting anything.

Re: 2 Point strut tower brace for carb/tbi
You might consider replacing the strut mounts (and eliminating their rubber) with after market versions before adding an STB.

Re: 2 Point strut tower brace for carb/tbi
Ahhh okay. I didnt realize the one from QA1 was 3 seperate bars. I thought it was a single piece. Thanks for that info.
And I may go ahead and change the strut mounts with the bar. That sounds like a good time to go ahead and do it.
