so my struts wont compress down?but there not siezed
so i jacked my car up to work on it and put on jack stands as normal, then once i was done i noticed the car was raised, about 3 inches, some people said lifting a car with bad struts can cause them to fully extend and seize but when i put pressure on the car i feel it compress and bounce but it just wants to stay lifted and doesnt want to settle down to normal position, could a bent or somewhat damaged swaybar cause that? its front struts on a 91 rs camaro tbi 305,with 87k original miles?its been about 16 hours since i let the car back down and i figured they would settle down but nothing,so im kind of wiered out by this haha O__o any help or suggestions are welcomed and appreciated

Drive the car. They'll return to their native collapsed state, like ALL OEM garbage that are more than about 2 yrs old or have more than about 10,000 miles on em, pretty quick.

If the car is on level pavement, put it in neutral and just roll it forward and back a couple of times, just a few feet is enough. Don't even need to start the engine. Be sure to put it back into park or a gear.
Now see how it sits. I do the above all of the time after having a front tire or two off the ground. Only time I don't is if the car is going to be driven within the next couple of minutes.

When the car goes in the air, the control arms swing down to full droop. This brings the two front tires closer together than they would be at ride height. they both swing down and towards the center of the car.
When you put the car back down, the tires grab the concrete first, and then the car comes down over them. Because the tires are gripping so hard in the full droop position, it's hard for the car to settle in over them. They need to move OUTWARDS to allow the suspension to settle, but they can't because they're already on the ground. Usually you can see the sidewalls rolled in towards the center of the car a little from this.
Just go roll it around, it will settle itself out.
