Well, at 150k it's finally time to retire the tired old stockers I got right now, but I was floored to find Blisteins and Konis at almost $300 for the frront!!!

Is this about the normal price? Does anyone know who has the best deal? I was going to go Blistein but if there is a good deal on Konis I could give em a shot.

Also since I' am at 150k, is there anything else I should look at replacing? I recently had an alignment done and the guy said everything was tight and well. Not very sold on that myself because the car wanders so badly in the ruts... maybe it's a 3rd gen thing?

Is you car lowered at all? If so, that may be why your car wanders in the ruts. Mine did that after I lowered it. I fixed that issue by installing a set of Baer bumpsteer kits. It worked wonders with that issue.

 

Not lowered, but I wonder if they would help still help out? I'm also going to get a wonderbar and some convertible SFCs

 

Blisteins and Konis are more of a premium performance option, they are also rebuild-able and used to have a lifetime warranty as well. (Konis are also adjustable.)
Monroe Sensa-tracs and KYB's are known as less costly options.

If you do lower it you may want to look into after-market strut mounts so they don't bottom out. If not you should still get strut mounts anyway as they do wear out. Again you have the option of stock replacement or more high performance after-market.

As far as I know the only SFC's for convertibles are Alstons from Top Down Solutions. They run up the center vs. the perimeter style.

Edit: Buy from a known source, possibly referenced from the manufacturer. There have been cheap Chinese knock-offs hitting the market.
