using a different steering control

So I have or rather had an 02 eclipse. I know dont say it. Well it took a crap and is not being parted out. I have the rack and pinion steering rack from that car. would it be possible with little fab to install and use in on the firebird? the steering ratio on the eclipse was better then the old 87 bird (the only thing that was) so that would be cool if it was easily possible.

Re: using a different steering control

There is a big discussion about it on the fabrication board. Best luck is to look through are post your question there. What I have read on that thread is that it has to have a certain length so you maintain the right bump steer and all of that. Very complicated for me.
