Sway bar.
What are the benefits of removing the front sway bar? I have heard it is better for drag racing. Benefits or no benefits?

Re: Sway bar.
It helps with weight transfer which in turn should help with traction. But if this car is gonna be driven anywhere off the track, it's suicide.

Yes, it's a drag racing trick. Removing it allows the front to lift more helping weight transfer. If you drive like a grandma you could get away with not having one. I wouldn't corner without one. Joined: Dec 1999

Re: Sway bar.
If you are looking to aid weight transfer for a drag race launch, you can accomplish the same thing by removing just the end links from the sway bar. After you are done at the track reinstall the end links and ride home safely.
