Which Torque Arm Bushing do I need?

Need your experience and expertise.

I need to replace the Torque Arm Bushing on my '83 Camaro.

Car is:
1983 Camaro Sport Coupe
T-Top
Engine: LG4, 5-Liter V8, 305cid
Transmission: Manual 5-speed

Truth be told, I have made other posts in ThirdGen Forums e.g. (there are pics in there of my present bracket assembly) but I'm still not sure of exactly the one I should order. And I need to order this as soon as I can be certain to some degree of which one is the right one for my Camaro.

So, here's where you come in.

Which one do I order?
1) Energy Suspension 3.1110 Torque Arm Bushing

2) Energy Suspension 3.1111 Torque Arm Bushing

3) Energy Suspension 3.1112 Torque Arm Bushing

Unlike other posts I've made where I get long-winded with too many details, I've decided to keep this one short and to the point. However, ask me anything that would help the decision.

Thanks much!

Gene

Here's another angle of my Torque Arm Bracket that needs the Bushing:

It appears that you need one with the three "legs" of the W toward the drive shaft. That said, the first link claims that the bushing is for 82-83 cars, IIRC.

Thank you for your valuable input James.

Hopefully I can get a consensus of a couple more opinions and if all agree on one, that's the one I'll order this weekend (the Energy Suspension 3.1110 Torque Arm Bushing).

After I log in it says "click the image to view full size" but it never comes up. Same in Firefox and Chrome Browsers)

Re: Which Torque Arm Bushing do I need?

The "lips" point inward, toward the drive shaft.

No further "input" required really.

Either they point that way, or they point the other way. Year model is no guarantee one way or the other, nor is assembly plant or engine or trans RPO or anything else we can see from out here, which seems deeply weird to me, but whatevs... it is what it is, get what fits what it is and move on.

As far as the "click the image" thing, click it once, wait maybe 10 seconds, close the image (not the page or browser), click it again. It'll usually come up then.

The following diagram and part #'s are from Spohn. You can clearly see how the lips/legs are positioned.

And that's the one I just ordered, Energy Suspension 3.1110 Torque Arm Bushing, on Amazon ($13.95 +$6.70 Shipping).

Oddly enough, the images popped up right away this time...go figger!

Once received and installed in about two weeks I'll post back with result.

Thanks James!

That's because you already clicked on em once and they had been cached by your browser. A special case of "click em twice"

The reason I was looking for more than one opinion in this particular Forum was because of a conflicting opinion in this ThirdGen Forum in which Supreme Member John in RI suggested:

So, you can see my dilemma.

Anyway, I'm going with the 3.1110 that I've already ordered and suggested here and we'll know for sure at time of replacement.

Re: Which Torque Arm Bushing do I need?

I actually ordered both styles the first time I did it; figuring I'd use whichever one fit, and return the other.

If I'm not mistaken the one that doesn't fit my car is still running around my house somewhere.

Good luck, looks like you probably have the right one coming to you.

Guess what? After placing my order, and thinking about it, that's exactly what I did.

Amazon has Free Shipping @ $35.00....

so, I canceled the original order for the 3.1110 and made a new order including the 3.1110 @$13.95 adding the 3.1112 @16.00...sub-total: #29.95 adding a Dell Hi-Capacity Black Ink Cartridge to the mix @$8.49 brought me to $38.44, qualifying for the Free Ship pretty much getting me the Ink Cartridge practically for free.

The last few things I bought on Amazon w/Free Shipping arrived in just four days, so I should have the 3.1110 per Amazon: "Arriving Thu, Apr 23 - Tue, Apr 28 by 8pm".

I'll take this one to the mechanic and have him verify if it will fit before he destroys the package so I can return it if it's not the right one.

Hopefully, between the two I ordered, one will do the job and I can put this repair behind me and move on to the next one looming sometime in the future.
