Springssssssssssssssssssssss??????????

I just talked to Global West about getting some of their springs. I told them I have a '87 Camaro Iroc that will be a Daily driver and drag race and autocross for fun9non competitively) on the weekends but I told them I woud like to concentrate more on the cornering than straight line.
For the front springs (1" drop) they said to go with their 800lb springs (their other springs were street 640lb and semi competetion 700lb)

The rear I think he said the 225lb springs (not to sure though on that rate could be higher) if I get relocation brackets and 190lbs without the brackets.

And Koni s/a sports for the shocks and struts

Anyone have any opinions on this setup????? I like to get as many opinions as possible on anything I buy and see if nyone has similar rates and how they work out. Thanks

Sounds like a good recommendation to me.While you're replacing the springs, install a set of their del-a-lum bushings in the A-Arms.I think they're much better than the poly bushings.
I used to run the Herb Adams solid steel bushings but I think they've been discontinued.Swapped in the del-a-lum bushings last year and have been real happy with them.

... I've been working with the folks at Ground Control and their recommended setup for the rear (I'm using this car for a daily driver and a track car for road racing) was a 175 spring made by Suspension Spring Specialists and using an aluminum threaded adjuster for the ride height adjustment, with a set of Tokico HP shocks. I already have the WS6 bars and the panhard and the LCA's are adjustable, too.

I'll be doing the front sometime in Feb.

Check out their site, click on catalogs, then Camaro/Firebird. They've been racing them long enough to have some sorta idea.

Mike

I aready talked to Ground Control. The suggested that I use their front and rear adjustable kit or they said I could just get regular drop springs. So it sounded like I was in between. Both with Koni shocks/struts.

I then talked to Global west and they told me what I said above in the origina post. I then asked them about their rear adjustable kit and they said really dont need it I would be better off with just the springs.

... it's probably cause I like to play with my car and try different adjustments. I know some tracks are rougher than others, and some you can slam it down and it stays. The adjusters for the rear weren't that much anyway, and with the battery re-location and the 8 pt 'cage, I just want to make sure I can put the car where I want it, as far as ride height.
