Problems with the perfect ride
I have a 92 RS that I'm planning on being an occasional commuter car and a vacation GT car. No track days or autocross use.
A while back I went with what seemed to be good advice on shocks and springs for the use I intended. I went with Moog springs and Koni Sport shocks as recommended in several threads here. I am ecstatic with the ride versus handling compromise. it is the best I've ever had for parts purchased and working right out of the box.
There is only one problem. As others have said when they went this route, it sits too high off the ground. I'd really like the car lower than it is for the look and maybe a minor increase in handling. It seems to me as if I get adjustable spring perches it can only go up from there. Shorter springs AFAIK increase spring rate which would hurt ride. Coil overs replace what I have got so far.
Anybody got some good ideas?

Re: Problems with the perfect ride
Drive it for a while and the springs will settle. If still too high I would recommend any of the better lowering springs. I like the vogtlands as they are progressive but have had good luck with eibachs too.
I hate hotchkiss. Have only had them on my 86 monte ss and not sure if they have 3rd gen springs but they should market them as baja specials. 1" drop was inches higher than stockers. Running belltechs now

Re: Problems with the perfect ride
My Firebird rode high after changing over to Moog springs... it did take a while to settle, but it will.
These things will improve the ride / handling, but not make it harsh or noises in the car...
Founders Rear Lower Control Arms with 3 way poly joint...
https://www.foundersperformance.com/...r-control-arm/
Founders Panhard Bar.... (no 3 way joint)
If you still want to play with ride height, then get the adjustable version of the above bars, then you can make them shorter / longer to center the rear axle, etc...
Get a factory style poly torque arm mount... makes a difference... (note there are 2 available for stock cars, have to check and see which way the stamping was made for your car).
Resist the temptation to get the whole torque arm / trans mount, it is a bit better, but much more noise...
Upgrade the sway bar bushings and end links to poly, use the special grease, they'll be quiet, and much improved handling...
Best of luck...
Rafael

Oh, and if your trans mount is shot, NAPA makes a nice rubber piece for like $15.... It's not the Anchor / DEA or other brands, it's a Napa Brand one, different than the other cheap $5 ones...

Well, you both said it will settle so I think i'll wait it out. As for control arms and control arms, yea they are on the list eventually. In keeping with the budget, it will be a little at a time. I sure like how this suspension has both good handling and good ride too!
