Aftermarket Steering Box

Does anybody know of a good brand to get a new steering box from? I have redone my entire suspension and steering linkage and I still have play. The car has a Cherokee steering shaft, all new tie rods and ball joints and such, along with a rebuilt steering box. The car still has about 2 inches of play in the wheel. I have moved the steering wheel back and forth while watching all the parts move and the play is definitely in the box. I have tried the adjustment screw on the top of the box, even with it tightened all the way (I know this is not recommended, it was only for curiosity purposes) it still had almost as much play, just required more effort. If anyone has any ideas on what my problem is or knows of a good company that builds brand new boxes it would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!

Re: Aftermarket Steering Box

I just finished having my power steering box rebuilt, and the place that did it was really fast and efficient. I visited their shop in person to drop off my gear and they rebuilt it. They also took care of my power steering pump and sent it out for reconditioning. All up, it took about two weeks and the parts were then back on my doorstep. However they also have off-the-shelf replacement gears if you simply want to send in your core and speed up the process.

The only company to my knowledge that has brand new worm gears is Turn One.

Yup, I purchased a Delphi 670 box 12:1 with matching LS2 pump last year. Took a while for them to get the boxes last year - must of been a run on them. Who would be buying them all?
That little flow matched pump was $395!!! - yowzer. Flow must be a beautiful thing.
