rear end from junkyard??
rear end from junkyard??
If I go to a junkyard and find a posi rear end w/ around 3.23 gears, how much do you think it would cost and would it last?? Or is there a way I would be able to rebuild it and make it last longer and perform better?? Is it worth it, or should a get a new one?? thanks
if you're after a posi carrier best thing to do would be to buy a SLP and put it in your rear. they're for 28 spline only so make sure what you have. to answer your question there shouldn't be a problem getting a used one, i'd take the cover off take a look around, change the oil and additive, maybe seals and run it.

Go to www.car-part.com and follow the prompts. This will give you and idea of what scrap yards are charging for rears in your area...works pretty well. You can find almost anything you want.
