Red Koni shocks
Hi there,
I dropped the front shocks last week. These are red Koni as usual on the MSE. I was surprised there is almost no damping action in compression. Extension is well damped even at half setting but nothing in compression.
Is this normal or do i have to replace the shocks ?
Thanks

Re: Red Koni shocks
They are most likey in need of help and have been on there since 83. Koni will rebuild them but its cheaper to just put them on the shelf and buy koni yellows

Ok so we agree they should be damping compression as well as rebound.
Thanks guys !
I'll get Koni yellow.

While compression and rebound settings aren't usually identical when optimum, the complete lack of one or the other is a serious problem.

Re: Red Koni shocks
That's the reason why i was asking.
No compression damping seems a bit weird for high speed driving.
I never drove that car so i couldn't say how it behaves. I'm working on it to get it back on the road.
