bad brakes

hey everybody, my brakes are kinda funky. when I smash (or even just apply pressure) my car pulls to the left and seems that the back brakes aren't working at all. My park brake doesn't work(the cable is froze) and I heard that that is what adjusts the back brakes, true or not? and also what would cause the car to pull to the left really bad when I brake?

Usually, it's either collapsed/deteriorated rubber brake hoses, or frozen/clogged calipers.

You sound like you should just overhaul the entire brake system. New calipers, rubber lines, rotors, pads, master cylinder, slave cylinders and shoes (if you have drums). If you get rebuilt parts, it shouldn't cost too much overall (my complete overhaul with the mentioned parts cost about $400, but that was with crossdrilled rotors and GM calipers).

At the very least, try those rubber lines (two in the front, one in the back).
