Rear disc are slipping

I had my 91 TA off the ground doing other maintence to it, while it was in drive I applied the breaks and the rear wheels kept turning, next i had the rotors turned and put new pads on, its still doing the same thing for a fact the emergency break works better then the break peddel. Before I rebuild the calipers I thought I'd see if anyone has had this problem and what thay did to fix it.

it won't help you, but I had my calippers rebuilt, planned the discs, changed the pads. still my e-brake or brake pedal won't hold the wheels any bit. I believe I have to properly bleed the system and if no result, change the brake hoses...
please tell me how it turned out.

See if you can determine the level or degree of pressure going INTO the propotioning valve? You can do this by having a friend push on the brake pedal while the engine is running. Then slightly loosen the brake lines one at a time. See if their is a big difference in the brake pressure FRONT TO REAR. Then do the same thing after the propotioning valve.

Thanx,ANDYZ28

I have gone back and read all the posts I could find on this and it sounds like GM desinged the rear disc breaks (proportioning valve) this way. One guy said his TA was this was when he picked his car up new, this is why I don't want to run out and buy a new pro. valve. I am however thinking of putting an adjustable pro. valve on the rear line, bypassing the stock valve on the rear only leaving the front hooked to the stock valve, plugging the in and out of the rear side of the stock valve and setting it so the rear breaks will just bearly stop the rear wheels while the rear is off the ground (at least to start with). When I get around to it I'll let you know how it works.

I would suggest that you do not do that.
