Steering Issues
OK, i don't know if this is the right forum to ask, but what the heck.
My Thirdgen Camaro failed the NJ state inspection for steering. What could be the matter with it? They told me it has too much play, but there isn't enough for me to really notice while driving (it seems pretty tight to me, but i guess the machine noticed some play). I'm just trying to get an idea of what might be wrong with it. I had new ball joints installed, the rotors are new, and the bearings are new. I'm wondering if maybe the steering box might have too much play or something. Any help would be nice.
Thanks,
Joker

If all else is tight in the steering linkage,I would say the steering box most likely has play in it.I beleive there is way to tighten this up,an allen key and a wrench adjustment on top of the box, though I have never done it,I cheated and bought a new AGR box.Do a search on this board or check in a repair manual, there has to be a way, that sucks they failed you for that.

Yep, Idler arm!
My geography must be off. You failed the NJ state inspection. But your signature says you are in Daytona Beach?
