It's nose heavy. It might be 60/40 or higher.

Last fall I weighed my race car and it came out 58/42. It does have the added weight of the big block but also has a lot of factory weight removed.

Here's what I had for mine:

1992 Z28 + me (200 with helmet) + 12gal fuel

Total weight: 3233lbs

LF: 964 RF: 927
LR: 679 RR: 667

Front: 1891 = 58.4%
Rear: 1346 = 41.4%

Hope that helps

Thanks guys.

But with a 60/40 ratio, why does it handle so well?

A lot of factors go into why a car handles well, not just weight distribution.
I could go into them here, butI'd be typing for a longass time, but basically, a 50/50 weight distribution helps very little so do cross weights (mine are 1631 and 1606). More important factors are spring rates, anti-rollbar stiffness, shock dampening rates (bump and rebound), suspension geometry, camber, etc and probably the most important one - driver

Well then, I guess 11 years of driving taxi has had some benefits in my case

3rd gens sure do handle better than the 77-89 Impalas.

What helps is that the suspension is set-up for the front heavy distribution--such as higher rate front springs and fatter sway bars.
