Wobbly rear wheels/tires

My buddy was following me and noticed the tred in my tires wobbling. I jack the rear of the car up, and watch em spin, sure enough. I couldn't tell if the wheel was bent/wobbling but looking at the trend it did and very noticable. I hit some curbs a year ago, could this have bent my axles, and if so how do I tell? Or could this just be the tires not perfectly straight?

Same here

Well,i dont have an answer to your question...but...i do have the same problem!i had these ugly stock 14" wheels on my car and then i went up to 18"s.and now my back left tire wobbles like a bitch.it was strait on the balancing machine so its not the rim but i have been told that the owner of the car before me could have smacked a curb with the 14"s.and with the smaller rims the wobble wasnt that noticaable but when the 18"s got on it was very noticable!so it could be a bent flange on the axle!

Its possible to bend the axle if you really smack the curb hard, but I'd be more inclined to thing you just bent the wheel. It's also possible that you caused some internal damage to the tire (like tore one of the internal belts), and this is causing the tire to deform. My brother hit a curb pretty hard in out t/a and split the sidewall belting in a tire causing a bulge about the size of a baseball.

I've long since gotten new tires from hitting the curb. That was over a year ago. Nothing since. I hit the curb so hard that I broke the pin holding the 4 spider gears in the differential. The wheels are balanced okay.

Instead of guessing, put a front tire(one that spins on the front good) on the rear and see if it shakes the same. You could also put that back tire on the front and give it a spin.
