Pinion angle ? on BMR and modifing Hotchkis STB

First off since I replaced my motor mounts with ES poly mounts the car sits about 1/2 in higher then my stb bar can go. I have placed 2 washers unfer the base of the mount and it worked, but then i tried to shut the hood and the top hits the hood. (firebird) so i took out a washer and it basrely fit like within a 1/16. The hood JUST made it but when i started it up the motor hit the bar and it started to vibrate. My question is can i grind some material off the front bar of the STB on the bottom? I wont be touching the other back bar or the plate welded across. I feel this is the only way to go.

Also on my BMR TA, I am trying to adjust the pinion angle but am having a hell of a time. The TA came with a pinion angle finder and it seems to work good. but when I had the rear at a -5 and the DS at +4 which got me the -1 the rear and the DS were way in a V shape Now I have the Rear -2 and the DS at 0 which gives me -2? Am i missing something here ? Also when I had the first combo the arm itself was so far through the bushing that it was aboiut I kid you not 1/16 behind the VSS sensor. and I was afraid that If i hit a bumb that would be it. Now with the second combo I have about an inch to spare.

I'm not sure on that STB, but isn't the STB's bar hollow? If you grind that, won't it leave a hole in the STB tubing?
