Suspension, What's the deal

Just thinking about the next mod to my car and my question is what is the deal with all this suspension stuff. I know that you have to plant the power to the groud to get down the track but is all this suspension stuff really worth it? Will a STB, LCA, or SFC really help that much? I mean we aren't talking .5 to 1 sec off the 1/4 mile time just from this stuff are we?

Depends on how much power you have...and/or what your goals are. Are you spinning rubber all over the place?...then, yes. Some suspension mods such as a torque arm, LCAs, SFCs can help a great deal.

I am not really spinning to bad but it is enough to get me thinking about doing something about it. I am just trying to get a solid 14.5 in the 1/4. What should I get first?

Is 14.5 all you want?...hundreds of ways to get it.

You should already be close with your mods.
If your going to the track...ice your plenum. Cool air in a TPI does wonders.

Sure I would like to go faster than 14.5 before it is all over ( like this speed thing is ever really over.) I am getting 3.42 gears soon and this will really call for some suspension mods. I don't know much about this area and that's why I ask about LCA, STB, SFC. Dont think a STB is really going to help in the 1/4 mile. Maybe I will get some...... Well, I don't know what to get that is why I am asking. Thanks for the reply

3.42 gears will really wake it up.
Get the SFCs with that. You won't be disappointed.

Also check out Steve Spohn's web site. SFCs, LCAs, Torque Arm, and relocation brackets should give your rear grip all it needs.
