Bump Steer Eliminators???
Bump Steer Eliminators???
I have the Eibach lowering (1.5" drop in front, 1" drop in the rear.) springs on my camaro and came accross a kit from Baer the eliminates bump steer for lowered cars. Does anyone know anything about this kit...i.e. does it really help the suspension geometry after you lower it? I don not notice any wierd/poor handeling when I dive into corners and the alignment shop has no problems getting my car into alignment.
Also, does anyone have the kits to lower the rear control arm attachment at the axle? Did they notice any dofference?
Please help

1. Think about what happens as the suspension moves through its arc... the steering moves through an arc too. If the arc centers of the control arm and the tie rods aren't the same, then as the suspension deflects, the wheel will be steered differently. Some of this is designed into the car. When you lower a car, especially when you do it incorrectly with just shorter springs, it upsets this geometry (along with all the rest of the car's geometry). The kit partially restores the relationship of the parts to closer to where it is supposed to be, so that the wheels don't toe in or out too much as you go over bumps.
2. Yes, I have those. They made a radical difference. They totally eliminated wheel hop and other instability of the rear end under power. A lowered car would have an even worse problem with the rear suspension geometry than the factory's wrong design does at stock height, and would benefit greatly from a set of them.
