Yeah, the idler arm is a common wear item on our cars. The idler arm "balances" the pitman arm from the steering box. The pitman arm drives all the linkage, and the idler arm keeps the passenger side of the linkage in place.
From above the engine compartment, look down at your radiator. Near the passenger side bottom, there's a suspension piece that bolts to the frame with 2 bolts and goes to a center link. The center link has tie rod ends on each side, that go near your tires.
You might want to ahve a shop replace the idler arm. It's adjustable, and if you do it, you might not find the right spot, and ruin your alignment. Plus, the alignment might already be ruined. You might need to replace the center link, too.

Re: Help !
I realize this post is more than a decade old, but did you ever figure out what was actually wrong? I'm having a similar issue on mine.

Re: Help !
We call that "death wobble".
In these cars, it's usually caused by any/all of the following, in no particular order:
Center link
Idler arm
Tie rod ends
Stock front end alignment specs
Springs
Ball joints
Sway bar end links
Worn steering gearbox
Struts
Control arm bushings
Crappy tires
Steering shaft rubber U-joint
Sway bar bushings
Strut mounts
"Frame" cracks around the steering gearbox
Just for starters... there's other possibilities...
Which ones have you already fixed? The others are right there waiting for you.
