Well it's come time for me to put some new shocks on my car. First off, I'm not too familiar with this aspect of cars, I've just recently been getting into the suspension side of things with the addition of a STB. I also recently mounted new rims and tires. I was talking to my dad and he suggested Koni shocks. But here is my problem...

First off my car is a V6, so V8 shocks would not work? (Correct me if I'm wrong here.) I decided to go on CarParts.com to look what came up for my car and basically it's only Koni, but besides that, I just wanted to see the prices and such. But when reading through the descriptions it listed that they were only for 14" and 15" rims. My car now has 16x8 rims on it... Can someone please help me to where I can find what I need? I'm kinda confused right now...

yes v8 shocks will work. not sure about the 14" and 15" rims are about. other than the fact that the v6 cars only came with 14" and 15" wheels. the diameter of the wheel shouldn't matter.

 

Okay, I'm now using my brain... Thanks for your reply, it made me think. The shocks that are on there now are the same ones that I used with the other rims, and they work, so that solves that problem. I didn't realize that before. So as for rim size that shouldn't matter, so now I can eliminate that BS.

As for the difference between the V8 and V6 that makes sense. I think it's the springs that would make the front higher for a V6 if I were to use V8 springs correct? But as for shocks their both the same. And the rear springs and shocks are the same for V6 or V8. I think I'm finally understanding here!

Now all I have left to research is what kind of shocks... I've searched the boards and I've seen things mentioned about KYB shocks I believe so I'm probably going to look into those, but if anyone else has an suggestions and good experiences with other brands I'd love to hear your results! Thanks!
