Can i do this?

i have the lo5(tbi), and i am wanting to put a throttle body spacer on mah car. i dont want to spend 50 dollars on some simple design. i want to create my own. could i design it out of a block of plexy glass or or a hardening epoxy? would if i built a custom design that put the throttle body closer to the front, and standing on its side, like a tpi throttle body. it would give more space for the air to kool down alot. and then put a longer air cleaner stud on the throttle body and just put a cone filter on it.

would that work? sound like a waste of time?let me hear some feedback from you guys. thanx

talk to you late!!

I see what you're saying but, I think at idle some fuel would leak out of the front of the tb because it is being injected horizontally and gravity is not able to help pull it down. Also, the tb blades are just about closed at idle and there might not be enough vacuum to suck in the fuel horizontally. Run the engine with the air cleaner off and look down inside the tb and you'll see what I mean.

Believe it or not a nice piece of hard wood is a very good material to use as a spacer. A great way to keep the TBI cool.
