Hi everybody. I've seen a lot of posts on timing here lately, and most tend toward a 4* to 8* advance with a stock chip.
Well, I was one of those unlucky people that wasted $120 on the Thermomaster chip from Hypertech. Anyways, I know that the chip is supposed to advance the timing more than that of the stock chip, so I was wondering if it would even be worth it for me to play around with my base timing. I'm not sure what the advance goes to with the chip, I think I read 30* w/ the stock, so I would assume around 36* or so w/ the Hypertech. Anyways, any comments would be helpful. Thank you in advance, Roy

teh hypertech chip does not change your timing at all. it enriches the fuel a little, and very littel at that.
your factory timing will get intot he 30degree range some times, but not too often. you shoudl advance the base timing to 4 or 6 degrees and see a difference in performance. the timing table is so conservative that the car will not knock before the table runs otu of advance unless you are running crappy gas.
