ESC Differences?

Hello,

I swapped in a 91 LO5 350 TBI engine into my 91 S10 that came with a TBI 4.3. I was wondering if the ESC was at all different, because at about 3/4 throttle I always get a ESC code, and was wondering if that was my problem.

thanks
nate

It's different all right. ESC's are tuned to the frequency of the motor.For a 350 you'll need AC/Delco #16128261 and that matches sensor# 10456288.
I swapped a 350 in place of a 305 and had to change also.
I'm planning on putting the Camaro's old 305 in my wife's 91 S10 Blazer(replacing the 4.3). Any tips on the v6-v8 S10 swap?

Nate, other than the esc problems did you change the prom and injectors from the 350? Was the L05 out of a truck or car?

Steve,

The LO5 was out of a 91 Suburban. I used 350 injectors and picked a 7747 ecm up from the salvage yard. I am currently using the stock chip, with all the 4.3 sensors. I still have to find a spot to put my knock sensor, the orginal hole is covered up by the motor mounts.

Why did you change ecm's? The original should have been the 747, the only thing to change would be the chip. By the way how good does it run or is the esc causing to many problems?

Steve-

When I did this swap, I was very new to TBI systems. I did not know the setups were different. I know that now. The truck seems to run pretty decent, and it pulls like crazy, its so much fun in this truck. Currently I have it all torn apart again, I'm installing headers, 1.6 comp cams roller rockers, z28 valve springs, new pushrods, and I am installing all the corrrect brackets and sensors.

Do you have AOL IM? I'm S10Lowrider1991 on there if you do.
