TBI timing question

ok i have a question about the computer controlled timing. if i set it at 0 degrees (yes EST disconnected) then connect the EST back and start it again it will jump to 12 dgrees base...but if i set the timing to 12 with it diconnected then connect it it jumps over to like 20 or something. the computer knows whats up right and it shouldnt be knocking or pinging to bad right? im running 93 octane in it so that might be why

Umm the computer advances your timing so when you pluged it back in the computer advanced it and I bet with it pluged in and you hit the throttle it jumped even farther
So set your base timing with it unpluged the plug it in tighten the dist. remove the timing light shut the hood and enjoy the ride:lala:
