PLEASE HELP! air fuel ratio gague disaster.
I just installed an autometer air fuel ratio gague. Everything went fine and I drove the car. It said I was a bit lean so I bumped the pressure up like 1 psi (2.5 turns in on the GM regulator). So after I bumped up the pressure I went for a drive. Car felt great than the gauge went ape and just flashed every light arround the dial and the car died. I could not keep her running and barely made it home. would only go to 2200 rpm and that where I kept her to get home. I checked my exhaust tips and there is no carbon at all so I can't be that rich. The car went crazy after it went into closed loop. I checked all of my wires and none are shorted out and my leads and ground are good. What is wrong???

Well I backed the fuel pressure off a bit and rechecked the timing. I am at 4* base and my fuel pressure should be around 9psi at idle and about 15psi at WOT. Those are estimates based on the number of turns you adjust on the regulator. The won't even run on its own anymore. Could I have fried my oxygen sensor.
The only way the oxygen sensor could have gotten fried is if you connected the wrong wire to the oxygen sensor signal wire or if you let the signal wire on the oxygen sensor touch a hot current or a ground while operating the vehicle. But your engine will still run even if the oxygen sensor is damaged or removed. I would check that you are getting the proper amount of fuel.

this is not a performance mod so nothing should need to be adjusted. Why did the car run fine after the install but take a catistrophic dump after 10 minutes of driving. I incresed the fuel pressure a ton and the injectors were almost dripping, so I backed it down to where it was. I may put the stock regulator on and see what that does.

no service lights or anything. When I bumped the pressure the first time I just undid the 8 screws and pulled it to one side. I never dissconnected the vacuum line to it. I am going to put the stock regulator back on to get the car to run and get the timing down. Than I will put the vacuum regulator on and see what happens. If my injectors drip i should be really rich right? I thought she was starving for fuel so i jacked up the pressure to the point where the injectors almost were dripping constantly. But I didn't get any white smoke and my tailpipes never carboned up.

What do your plugs look like? You may have dropped a plug or two. My car can run with the driver side plugs disconnected. All four, but it runs really bad. I was doing some work and forgot to reconnect the plugs!! Look at the plugs if you can, they might be some of the problem.
