Hey all,
I'm new to the site and to the boards. I recently got this 89 firebird. anyway, ever since i got the car it would rev when it was cold. it also is al little sluggish and slow to respond. I have heard that my cad could be clogged, and/or my vacum hoses are really retarded, and/or my O2 sensor could be bad. can someone please shed some light on the situation before i go nuts!?

I would look into giving it a Tune-up. Check the Spark Plug Wires and listen to the Engine to see if there's any bogging going on. The Reving could be due to not being Timed correctly.

Checking the Vacuum Hoses would be a great idea. One little cut or hole in one of those Hoses would cause a big difference in performance.


Start with the easiest things and work your way down the list. Become one with your bird.

 

Thanx for the advice. unfortunately i now have bigger fish to fry because some blind old man pulled out off of a median mind you and right in front of my baby. i now have to replace my bumper hood and fender.i'm also taking him to court. NO ONE HITS MY BIRD AND LIVES! HAHAHAHA

I would but i just found a beautiful, perfect, formula hood. it was like 25 bucks. i decided i'm gonna put on a gta front clip and gfx. by the way, did i mention that when the old man pulled off the median, he had his lights off in the pouring rain at night? and when i say "Median" i mean this guy was sitting on top of it. (on the grass) not to mention i have witnesses. this case is mine.
