How well does this intake flow?
I've got a stock alum. 4 bar. intake and a Edlbrk performer w/out EGR. I want to swap on another intake on my LO3 when I put on my 416's but I dont know which one yet. I would use the performer but it has no EGR provision. I used the stocker on an old 305 in my S10 and it ran a 15.5 at 89 mph in stock trim incl. stock ehaust manifolds. I'm on a budget so I would like to use something I already had. Any advice?

dump the egr and put the performer on... the stock intake flows ok for a stock motor but youd be better off using the performer intake. I ahve one and i really like it. Word of caution, though... no water jackets in the performer so the engine is a little rough for the first few minutes of operation in very cold weather.

i assume your heads will use the older style intake bolt pattern so your only otehr option would be to buy a tbi intake that has the provisions for the older bolt angles and egr or modify your existing one that you already have with a dremel and use that. The stock tbi intake sucks, though.

both of these intakes are 4 barrell intakes. I will be making a adapter plate for the tbi out of 5/16 alum. I got the diagram from DIY-EFI. What should I do about not having an EGR w/out have an SES light. I know you can burn your own prom but seems like alot of people get frustrated trying to do their own, and I'm not going to pay someone, I'm a DIY'er. I will also have emissions testing in the future. Thanx for any replies.

Raggedout ... where in NC are you? I'm in Raleigh/Cary area.
What did you do to the 416's? I have a set and wanted to attempt a port job on my own, but I've never done anything like that before. If you have done yours already, and they are not yet on the car, I'd love to see them if your relatively close by!

I live in Jacksonville. I have a set of 416's that I ran on a 305 for a while in my S10 which ran a best of 15.5 all stock and then I had them shaved .030 and and overhauled with Edelbrock springs and then I ran them on a 307 for about 2 months before the bearings started to come apart and now I am going to do a mild port job on them and install them on my Camaro. I 'll probably do that over Christmas and I'll take pictures. I've done some pocket porting before on my 041's that are now on my S10. It's not hard, just takes some time. I'll post them when I finish them.
