header installation

I finally got my hooker 2055 headers and a 3" cat. I want to put them in this weekend. I have never done anything major like this before, so am I in over my head by trying to install them myself? If not, what are some of the problems you guys have run into that you can tell me about? Any tips, suggestions, or should i just get everything done at a shop?
Thanx

Does it come with a y Pipe?

If you have a whole week end it should be enough time to to get them in depending on how skilled u are.
Once the old stuff it off and the car lifted
The driver side header will go in with ease but the pass. will take most of the day to get in you will have to loosen the motor mounts to lift up the engine a lil for more room. The bolts on that back of the header are a lil hard to get but not imposible. Just make sure to put on good gaskets the first time so you wont have any trouble with leaks later on.

I had to unbolt the motor mounts, then the headers went in a lot easier, cat backs are a walk in the park, I've done about 5 of them

I did my header, Y-pipe/cat swap out a couple of years ago in a tight 1 car garage in 35 degree weather...not fun.

It is not difficult, one of the hardest parts I found was getting the old stuff off. If I had to do it again, I would just pay someone to do it.....provided they didnt want too much for it

I had already removed my a/c ... heat control valve and a whole lot of other stuff so installtion wasn't that hard. Then I used a 18" pipe from the local parts store and clamped that to where the cat used to be. It was a vast improvement.

If you still have all that stuff in ... it will take a while manuvering them around and getting them in. But it just takes awhile .. nothing to be scared of
