im thinking about getting the power pack for the tbi 305/350 and im wondering what everyone thinks about it. is there a better cam than what is in the pack? i do have to pass ca emissions so that is basically the only thing i have to keep in mind. that and i dont want to totally shoot my gas milage to crap.

 

What exactly is in the "Power Pack"?

If it's anything like the TPI "Fast Pack" then just do ala carte mods... You mentioned a cam though so I'm think it's actually a good package. So whats in it?

 

the edelbrock cam is garbage. the intake is ok for a stock or mild cam, so that is a good mod.
you can do better on the cam by getting a LT1 stocker or similar small hydraulic roller cam.
really you will be better served to stay away from teh prepackaged stuff. anything that is offered as an over the counter combo is goin to be littered with compromises that make it les of a deal than it sounds like.

yeah i thought i remembered hearing someone say the cam was crap, but ive heard good things about the intake. however i dont know anything about the heads (p#60859). that is what the main parts in the pack are (cam, intake, heads). what will the lt1 cam do to my gas milage, and what kind of power will it give me? cause i still have to use my car as a daily driver. thanks.
