I was wondering if I should keep my stock 305tbi and modify it. Or get a 350 and drop that in. If i kept the 305 maybe i would get a turbo.
Also what is a inexpensive exhaust for a great loud sound and more power. I was thinking of the sb chevy shortie headers but I don't know if they would work. plz let me know.

Kevin, no one here can make up your mind or tell you what to do, EXCEPT ME, and I'm telling you to not get in a big hurry and start reading a lot of the older posts. You will find a lot of valuable info and wisdom to make your own mind up on what to do, and you might find a lot of ideas you had not already thought of to incorparate into your camaro.

Steve's right, you will hear the inevitable "get a 350" sooner probably than later, but in the end only you can decide... and that means if you are a newbie (not only to the board, but to cars as well) that you have a lot of research ahead of you. YOU and YOU ALONE have to start asking questions like "how many cubes do I want?" 262 (4.3)? 283? 305? 307? 327? 335? 350? 355? 383? 385? Bigger cubes are not always the answer. I have even considered building a vortec supercharged 4.3 just like Hot Rod did last year for many various reasons. They made over 500 horses with thier combo... that aint bad. But even with significantly less horsepower will I need a new (built) tranny? Is my rear gonna hold up? There are a lot of questions, and none really have cut and dried answers. Do some reading and soak up all the knowledge you can. It will make things that much easier in the end.
Hope I didn't step on your toes too much...
