Please Help Verv Weird

Just this afternoon after taking my ride out for a spin when I shut the car off I heard a weird humming coming from the drivers side by the rear wheel. It turns on and off, someone told me that it was a fuel pump but I thought that it was on the engine. Also I NEVER heard this noise before today was the first day. I also smell fuel but I dont see any leaking out. Someone please tell me what this is.

That would be the fuel pump. Our cars have the fuel pump mounted in the tank. Could be a bad pump, pump relay, or pump fuse. Check your throttle body while it's humming to see if maybe you have a leak in the throttle body.
