Replace fuel pump
I have a 1992 camaro 305 E code down a the Chevrolet dealer getting a new gas tank no charge under a safety recall. I thought about having them put in a new fuel pump since the car has 111,000 miles on it. The cost of about $250 makes me wonder if it is worth it. How long does one of these pump typically last?

damn, 250 bucks, if they are going to be replacing the fuel tank anyways, and are going to take the fuel pump from one tank and put it on the other, they might as well just throw in a new pump for alittle more than the cost of parts. Stock pumps are like $55 and you can get a high flow 255LPH walbro for $95 on ebay.

oh, and to answer your question, i have 153K miles on the stock pump but might swap in a new walbro this summer just to be safe.

the price you quoted sounds like they are charging you the full price, i'd ask to speak to the service manager on that one.
to answer your question, though, i would go ahead and have it done. mine has 122,000 on it, and it still works ok, but i feel it hesitate every once in a while, and my old 91rs had the f pump go bad at 108k. i'd go for the aftermarket one though, b/c gm doesn't have the greatest reputation with fuel pumps
good luck.
